When I was away on a trip to Schroon Lake, New York with my teen group last week my mom told me Gracie missed me. My mom said Gracie would call out my name and then looked around for me. My mom told Gracie I was away and this satisfied her for a little while. A few hours later she would do it all over again asking where her sissy was. Mom said Gracie would even look at pictures of me and ask again where I was. Mom also shared with me that if there was a noise out in the garage or a noise up stairs Gracie would look at my mom and asked if it was I. My heart just melted when my mom told me this when I returned back from my trip.

Another thing Gracie did while I was away was she would go in my room and snuggle underneath my covers and watch her television shows.

The first night I was away Gracie wanted my mom and her to sleep in my room. She said to my mom “sleep sissy?’ My mom knew Gracie wanted to sleep in my room so my mom and Gracie got ready for bed and they both ended up sleeping in my room. The next night Gracie fell asleep on the couch with my mom as they were watching television. When my mom picked Gracie up to put her in her bed Gracie woke up just enough to realize mom was putting her in her bed and not mine. She began to cry and said “sleep sissy, sleep sissy.” My mom put Gracie in my bed to sleep the rest of the night.

The last night I was away Gracie was watching television in my room and she fell asleep in my bed. My mom just left her there to sleep the rest of the night. The special thing is I think I missed Gracie even more then she missed me. I am so blessed.
