Thing One and Thing Two hit the road and it was a sight to behold.
Trick or Treating got off to a late start for the dynamic duo but that did not stop us. We were on a mission…a candy-seeking mission.
Mom strapped Thing Two in her stroller otherwise known as the “Thing Mobile” and Thing One waited patiently holding the candy holding contraption otherwise known to humans as a canvas bag.
We were off ready to conquer “Candy Land.” The night air was rather comfortable for our mission. We approached our first assignment and sitting on the front porch was a sweet grandfather and his precious granddaughter holding a bowl of the goods we were after. Thing One walked up and kindly spoke to the grandfather and said “Trick or Treat”. Before Thing One could obtain the goods to complete assignment number one the grandfather inquired about Thing One’s grades and Thing One replied “Report cards come out in two days but I think I made A’s in all of my subjects.” The grandfather handed over the much-coveted goods and Thing One and Thing Two thanked the man and his granddaughter. Assignment number one was now complete and a success.
The dynamic duo headed off to their next assignment and as planned Thing One approached the door and rang the bell while waiting patiently for someone to open it. When the door opened Thing One once again said “Trick or Treat” as Thing Two sat in the “Thing Mobile” looking too adorable for anyone to pass up double helpings of the candy. Assignment number two was complete and went off without a hitch.
For the next forty-five minutes all the assignments were accomplished by the duo while partaking in some of the spoils of our hard labor.
As the evening came to an end, what the two thought would be a candy-seeking mission ended up being an even bigger mission…a mission of many memories made together.
