There was a lot of excitement this morning when the children awoke. The excitement was spreading through the house for several reasons. The obvious reason was that it was Thanksgiving morning. Thoughts of turkey and desserts danced through their heads. There was no school today and they were thrilled about that. They get so excited about just lying around, watching cartoons, and playing video games. When they looked out the windows this morning they found the first snow of the season laying on the grass. Brilliant white crystals shimmered in the morning sunlight.
Usually, we have already had snow a few times by the end of November in Michigan, so this came a little late. Our children threw on their coats and gloves and ran outside to play in the snow. They weren’t the only ones. As we drove to grandma’s house, we say many children out in their yards having snowball fights.
Unfortunately, the snow was to be short lived today. The temperature was 38 degrees, not cold enough to keep the snow from melting. The children enjoyed playing in it for an hour or so and even designed miniature snowmen. Sorry, by the time I got around to taking a photo only one miniature snowman was still here. As we gazed around the yard and the farm, the little snowman, about six inches tall, was the only snow left, as far as the eye could see.
Ami had her first taste of Turkey and seemed to enjoy it. She ran circles around everyone and really seemed to enjoy the bustle of the holiday. At 8pm, she is already asleep. All of the excitement also wore out Ali, she fell asleep in the van on the way home. Dani enjoyed her first holiday as a Fuller. With several family members present, it was a good opportunity for her to let everyone know that she was official a Fuller now.
We have much to be thankful for this holiday. Our family has been blessed with a dozen beautiful children. Blessed is the man who’s quiver is full and ours certainly is. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
