Two nights ago, Gracie and I had a pajama party in my room while our mom and our dad were cleaning out Gracie’s toy box that sits in the living room. Mom and dad asked me if I could take Gracie in my room and watch her because they did not want Gracie to get upset when they bagged up some of her toys she had out grown so that we could give them to friends with younger children.

During our pajama party I fixed Gracie’s hair and put her hair up in a ponytail. Her hair is finally long enough to pull back. She sure looked cute if I say so myself. Gracie attempted to do my hair and well…it did not come out so pretty if you know what I mean.

After our “appointment” at the beauty salon Gracie decided to start jumping on my bed and I had to tell her to stop. As you can imagine she did not like that because that was not any fun for her. So I began another game where I had her stand up on the bed. Then I would jump off from the floor and land on the bed gently and Gracie would then pretend to fall down softly on my bed. (Well, sometimes they were not so soft but do not tell my mom.)

The next item on our pajama party itinerary was picture-taking time. Gracie is so photogenic and I enjoy taking pictures of her with my digital camera. I meant to only get a few pictures of us together but over and over and over and over again she would leap on my back and say, “Chee (cheese)!” She just loves to have pictures taken of her and she is so fascinated that her picture can be displayed on a tiny, silver screen. I am now glad she insisted on having several pictures taken because the majority of them turned out great and we now have some pictures to look back on and remember the fun night us wacky sisters had together.

To end our evening I decided to read to Gracie after we said our “night-night prayers”. She loves to have bedtime stories read to her before she goes to sleep. It was getting very late and I decide to get out one of my chapter books I have been meaning to read and I began to read the first chapter to her. I decided since my chapter book did not have any pictures in it then maybe she would get bored and fall asleep faster. It worked!
