Just had to share our extended family's joy with all of you that our new niece, Makenna, is home! She arrived with her parents late Wednesday night a bit tired and jetlagged but every bit as beautiful as you saw in her
previous pictures.
As we were anxiously waiting, a woman who had been on the same flight and saw her brothers holding a "Welcome Home Makenna! We love you!" sign, walked past and said, "I already saw her on the plane and she's beautiful!" Makes me cry all over again just typing it.
Her mom said she is a "Momma's girl" which I personally think is a great thing to be! Makes that mother/daughter bond even stronger when you can't even go to the bathroom on a 12 hour flight home without your daughter screaming for you! :)
She cried at first at the airport when people got too close, which was to be expected, but my oldest daughter, Nicole, was able to make her laugh by making silly faces at her.
As we left the airport, my eyes welled up with tears thinking of how another sweet one has found her forever home. Thank you,
Jaclyn Champnella, for sharing your story and inspiring one more family to open their hearts and home to a child who dearly needed a family. We will be forever grateful!
