After we left the classroom, the kids played outside on the playground for a bit and Caleb chose to be rather obnoxious. Everything was "my school was better", "our playground was bigger", "we had flowers and they don't", "we had more exercise equipment", etc. Taylor decided to put him in his place and said via our guide, "Well, their English was sure a lot better than yours." Caleb thought that was pretty funny and informed us all that he didn't like English and didn't really need to speak it anyway. If only we had known at that time, how many more times we would be hearing those phrases come out of his mouth.

They did have some interesting signs in their courtyard that suggested kindness and respect for one another, but their English translations on the signs was a little shaky.

As we got ready to leave the school, you can see from this picture that as a tourist, vendors are never far from view. These women were at the school gate just waiting for us to leave so they could try to sell us something.

Unfortunately, however, what they had was the same as what 50 other vendors on the streets of China have already either shown us or sold to us. You have to admire their tenacity, but how many feathered hacky sack type toys can one tourist buy? They followed us to our pedicabs but thankfully left after our tour guide told them to go.

Next stop...a trip to a local family's home
