All siblings have their good days, their bad days, the days they are healthy, and days they are sick. Today, Gracie is sick, but even a little cold cannot stop that little girl’s energy!
My mom came into my room this morning and said Gracie woke up in the middle of the night with the croup. I woke up this morning without the sound of Gracie coming into my room to wake me up. Tired little Gracie was still asleep in her bed from the night of coughing and was still in bed when my mom and I left the house to go to school.
My mom was working today so my Maw-Maw (grandmother) picked me up from school because she was watching Gracie. Gracie was asleep when I got into the car, but that did not last long. Once Maw-Maw stepped into the entrance of our house carrying Gracie as she was sleeping, Gracie opened her eyes, popped her head up and said in a very happy voice, “Sissy! Sissy! Sissy!” Man, does that little girl have some energy, even when she is sick! She leaped to me and held on close, gave me a big hug, and kissed me on the check so Sissy would not get sick.

Maw-Maw left and Gracie and I were home for a little bit while my mom was at work finishing up a few things. Poor Gracie. She was coughing and sneezing, but yet, very happy and energetic like nothing was wrong with her.
Once my mom got home I said to Gracie, “Gracie! Mommy is home!” That little head of hers popped up and she yelled, “Mommy home? Mommy home?” We went down stairs to see our mommy who brought dinner home for us.
Now, it is nighttime. Gracie is still sneezing and coughing but still so happy without a care in the world.
