Hi Just me Mom and Heidi! I have a better idea. Why not do what my mother did. She tied a robe to my bed and hid it under the frame. Can be used in case of a fire too. Much safer then a knife. When I was a child I was also terrified of the night. I was told there were monsters and all sorts of things that were going to come and kill me and my family. Hence, my mother having to take out the closets in my bedroom. Later when I was a little older, I discovered that we all have guardian angels and it made it better. Now I tell my scared nephew that Jesus is in his room with him and as many angels as he can ask for to protect him, that usually does that trick but he is older. For infants and toddlers my mother-in-law fostered, she'd put one of her t-shirts with her scent on it in the crib and also she would make these clicking sounds with her tongue or hum, in the hallway outside the babies room or over the baby monitor. It seemed to let them know she was near and that is all they cared about. Jenn

Wow, that's a tough one. It would be nice to have a "magic spray" to take his fears of burglars away.

Have you considered a baby monitor just to emphasize that you are always listening and aware and will always be there to keep him safe?
Just a thought...

My 8 year old say he's afraid of a burglar coming into his room. We've never been robbed or anything. He told my sister he wants to keep a knife next to his bed. She asked why (thinking he would say to stab the burglar). Instead, he said he'd use it to slash the screen so he could jump out the window.

I wish I had a spray for that fear.
