You know your adopted baby is beginning to grow up when she begins copying her older siblings. Ami will be turning two years old in July and she idolizes most of her older siblings. Frequently, she is seen trying to be just like one of them. Whether, she is walking with her hands behind her back, echoing their exact words, or just following them around. When she sees them playing, she always wants to join in, and sometimes they let her. She is getting quite adept at assembling legos. However, today she cried for quite a while when she wasn't allowed to play Monopoly with her older siblings.
At suppertime, big brother Ty, decided to eat his supper in the hallway on the floor. Occasionally he does this when one of his sisters does something gross. As you can see in the photo, by the time he sat down and began eating, Ami was by his side.
She glanced over her shoulder to see what he was doing. Then she grabbed her plate off from the table, slid down to the floor, and hurried to his side. She checked to see what he was eating off from his plate and then she ate the same thing. It was really cute. They both grinned when I started taking pictures.
She has also decided that she needs to feed the horses and cows everyday. If I happen to do it while she is napping, I will still need to take her to the barn. She will repeat, “Horsey, neigh,” and “Cow, moo,” over and over until I take her to the barn. She likes to hug my horse’s leg and pet her belly. Luckily, my horse loves children and is very careful around them. She once put her chin on four-year-old Ali’s shoulder and watched her play in the sand for an hour. We had another Missouri Fox Trotter with a similar personality. It makes me wonder if all of the breed is so gentle.
