Christmas Eve Gifts

Well, it has been a few days since I have written, but with the preparations for the holidays and having a cold, it has been hard for me to get on the computer.

It is almost Christmas. Just ONE more day! I can hardly believe it is that time of year again! Today my mom, my dad, Gracie, and I went to my Maw-Maw’s (Grandmother’s) house for a Christmas Eve brunch. My Maw-Maw is such a good cook so we had all kinds of great things to eat. Scrambled eggs, hash browns, HOMEMADE biscuits, country ham, tenderloin, oranges, grits, and gravy just to name a few.

After enjoying our Christmas Eve feast, we opened Christmas presents. In the picture above you can see Gracie and me with some of our wonderful gifts.

As most of you know, Tickle Me Elmo has been very popular this Christmas and has been hard to find. Instead of the Tickle Me Elmo, my Aunt Rayna gave Gracie a Tickle and Giggle Curious George. She just absolutely loves it! When Gracie took Curious George out of the present bag Gracie said, “MON-TEY (monkey)!” Mom asked Gracie, “Which monkey is it Gracie?” Gracie responded, “Ge-org (George).” Gracie also received some Veggie Tale movies, Strawberry Shortcake winter hat and mittens, a kid laptop, a small, pink basketball with a small basketball goal, and a light up squishy ball.

In the picture Gracie and I are on a really pretty comforter I received as a present. I also received sheets for my bed and valances for the windows. We are in the process of redoing my room so bedroom products were high on my Christmas list this year.

Not only did Gracie and I get presents, so did my mom and my dad. Dad received a new suitcase with two other bags that go along with it since he travels a lot on business. He really needed another suitcase since his old suitcase broke in Europe.

Mom received a pretty picture for the wall that said, “Mother… a mother holds a child’s hand for just a short time, but she holds their hearts forever.”

Tonight, my mom, my dad, Gracie, and I had dinner at home. Together we read the Christmas story and Gracie and I opened one present. My mom and my dad received a gift from Gracie and me as well before we open the rest tomorrow morning.

I cannot wait until tomorrow! I just love Christmas. I love being with my family to celebrate the holidays. Let the countdown begin! Less then 5 hours left!
