My friends at school think it is pretty weird when I start humming a tune from Elmo’s World or say, “Man! I have the Blue’s Clues theme song stuck in my head.” I can’t help it. When you have a younger sibling you are just surrounded by the songs and shows that your sibling watches and listens to. Constantly, as the oldest I am asked by my parents, “Kelsey, watch Grace while I go to the store.” I can’t watch my sister while I do something else and not have the TV on and hear, “La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, Elmo’s world…” You have to get used to it whether you like it or not. It may seem very un-cool to watch these shows with your brother or sister but after a while you pretty much get used to it.
If you were to ask me, I could tell you what time Little Einsteins, The Wiggles, Breakfast with Bear, or many other pre-school shows come on television. Sometimes I even scare myself because I know these things so well!

My friends say I am weird, but truth be known, I know that they know a song or two from Barney. Don’t tell me the Barney clean up song doesn’t pop up while you're cleaning! We all know it. Yes, even you to parents! “Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere. Clean up, clean up, everybody do your share!”
I’ve also noticed from the shows Gracie watches today that I used to watch at her age that there are a lot of changes. For example, the changes: No more Steve on Blue’s Clues. We now have a new friend, Joe. Bear in the Big Blue House no longer limits his fun to his house. He now takes us into the town where he lives. There are a lot of shows that over the years have not changed much. When I watched Sesame Street when I was five, Elmo was his young self. I am now thirteen and Elmo is… still young? What? Do monsters and big yellow birds just stop growing? I think after thirty years, Big Bird would have matured and would have given his bear to a charity. Don’t get me wrong. These are all cute shows, but it’s just something to think about and hopefully put a smile on your face for the day. (Don’t tell anyone but I still have my stuffed Barney from when I was two years old!)
