It was the morning of Christmas Eve and I had not yet wrapped any presents, not even one. Super Dad took the initiative and began wrapping the gifts we needed for tonight’s celebration with his family. I began separating gifts into piles based on whom they were for very slowly. I am surprised that Super Dad didn’t say anything to me because for the most part I just sat there in a kind of stupor. I have been suffering from depression for the last several weeks, perhaps you could tell by the tone of by writing. I just could not get into the holiday spirit. I went shopping yesterday and spent over four hundred dollars on one of the busiest shopping days of the year because I hadn’t finished buying for everyone on my list.
I had planned to get up early this morning and tackle the wrapping job, which usually takes two or three days. Instead, I was called in to the post office. My postmaster had a sick toddler and the pediatrician was only open until noon today, so she needed me to cover for her.
By the time, I returned home from the post office my time was limited to get all of the presents wrapped, because we are due at our in laws at 6:30. Luckily, Super Dad seemed to be in a wrapping mood and he helped immensely. He wrapped everything for his parent’s party and then he started in on the kid’s piles I had made.
I finally got into the spirit of wrapping, and that is when Amigrace started crying and rubbing her eyes. She was tired and needed a nap and she wanted me to rock her to sleep. I took her down stairs and found her blanket and her pacifier. Super Dad took her and began rocking her so I could get back to wrapping
I’m not really sure how we managed to get it all done in time to leave. But we did and here’s the picture to prove it. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
