When I was away on a trip to Schroon Lake, New York with my teen group last week my mom told me Gracie missed me. My mom said Gracie would call out my name and then looked around for me. My mom told Gracie I was away and this satisfied her for a little while. A few hours later she would do it all over again asking where her sissy was. Mom said Gracie would even look at pictures of me and ask again where I was. Mom also shared with me that if there was a noise out in the garage or a noise up stairs Gracie would look at... more

Christmas with Gracie was a blast this year. She was so funny because when it came time to open our Christmas presents she looked confused since we told her she could not touch the presents in the days leading up to Christmas. Once we told her it was all right to open them her face lit up with excitement.
Gracie received a Leap Frog learning system with books she could change out, a mega color doodling pad and three Blue’s Clues DVDs just to name a few. I gave her a Dora the Explorer bathtub... more

My cousins love me to death! They have even given me a nickname, Moose (not to be mistaken by another Adoption Blog writer, The Moose). There are three cousins that near live me. They are Jack, Meleah, and Nathan.
Jack who is 4 years old is the oldest of the “babies” in our family and we have always had a special bond because he was my first cousin born that lives near me. He tells me all about his soccer team, and his trains, and what he has been doing with his little sister, Meleah.
Meleah... more

My little sister Gracie does not like ice cream. What is up with that? I thought every child on this green planet loves ice cream. Well, not her. I think she would enjoy a jalapeno whole before she would take one bite of ice cream.
Last week Gracie had a sinus infection and her doctor prescribed her some medicine. Well as you can imagine she would not take her medicine because it smelled something awful. I am sure it probably tasted just as bad as it smelled. My mom decided that only way Gracie would take her medicine... more

I really wonder at times what my little sister Gracie is doing while I am slaving away at this wonderful educational establishment. Many times I ask myself these questions and wonder if she is jumping up and down on her big sisters bed or messing up the covers to make it look like I have not made it up that morning. Is she messing with my jewelry and getting it in one big tangled mess? Or maybe she is eating goldfish in my bed and leaving evidence in the sheets for me to find tonight at 10:00 p.m. as I am crawling in dead tired ready to go to bed. Maybe she... more
I believe my little sister Gracie is either a monkey or a future American Olympic gold medallist. The little daredevil loves to climb. She is fearless when it comes to heights. From the time she learned to walk she would find a way to climb on top of things.
It was not long after she learned how to walk she learned to open the dishwasher door and then crawl on top of it to reach for drinks and food that were on the cabinet. When we are not looking we have found her standing on top of the kitchen cabinet before. She wiggled... more

Friday night I spent the night at my friend Kaitlynn’s house celebrating her fourteenth birthday. Six other of Kaitlynn’s closest friends also spent the night. We had a wonderful time of shopping, eating Chinese food and enjoying delicious treats at one of my favorite places, Starbucks. YUM!!! The evening was also spent laughing and watching movies and of course, staying up until all hours of the night. (Poor Kaitlynn’s parents.)
The time was quickly passing by and I realized it was getting late so I wanted to call my home... more

Thing One and Thing Two hit the road and it was a sight to behold.
Trick or Treating got off to a late start for the dynamic duo but that did not stop us. We were on a mission…a candy-seeking mission.
Mom strapped Thing Two in her stroller otherwise known as the “Thing Mobile” and Thing One waited patiently holding the candy holding contraption otherwise known to humans as a canvas bag.
We were off ready to conquer “Candy Land.” The night air was rather comfortable for our mission. We approached our... more
I absolutely love my little sister but there are times she really bugs me. For instance, she loves to help me with my homework. As much as I would like for her to do my homework I just don’t think a two year old could do middle school algebra. Bummer! If I am on the phone with a friend Gracie will find another phone and “socialize” with them. It is cute for a while but then it really gets on my nerves. If I have a friend over to my home she thinks she needs to be with us and take part in the things we do. Once again this is fine for a while but then it gets to me. I... more

Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles. What is it about bubbles that babies love so much. Hey, I will admit it. I love bubbles as well. For that matter my dad enjoys blowing bubbles with Gracie. Forget about Christmas or birthday gifts. Just give her bubbles. She is the queen of bubbles. She has a bubble making machine, a bubble blaster, bubble wands in all shapes and sizes and an industrial sized container of bubbles so that she does not run out. She even has bubbles that smell like chocolate for crying out loud. Her obsession with bubble does not stop there. She must have... more
