As a sponsor of a deaf child in Kenya via Angel Covers, I wanted to know more about the organization and how adoptive parents could become involved. Obviously we can't adopt all of the hungry or hurting children in the world, but we can do much with our time and money to help them even as they remain in their native countries.

As a student nurse years ago, I attended an AA meeting as part of a school requirement and heard someone say, "Hi, I'm so and so and I'm a drunk and a junkie." I thought that was rather direct and honest since the usual phrase is "Hi, I'm so and so and I'm an alcoholic."
If there were a 12 step program for me, my introduction would be, "Hi, I'm Heidi, and when it comes to chocolate, I can't eat just one, so don't give me any for Valentine's Day!
